I like making lists... it calms the control freak in me

So the purpose of this blog is to encourage myself to explore SF in my first year after leaving my beloved NYC. I thought about calling the blog "Confessions of an East Coast Transplant" but I realized that that is not really true, and also sounds a little too Nip/Tuck-ish.

Though I may never stop talking once I know you, I have problems getting started sometimes. So this will be at least a year-long exercise in me actually working on a compilation of good friend's good advice.
1. To get over fear of strangers: talk to 5 people and THEN "run away"
2. After grad school is the perfect time to "start over"
3. See you in NYC in a year!
4. Everyone gets fired at least once
5. Keep an open mind; opportunities are EVERYWHERE

To make sure that I don't just veg at home... I'll keep a log of
1. Where I go
2. What I see
3. Possibly what I think
4. How often I get lost
5. How often I actually move my car

That may be boring to others, but this will give me a chance to keep in touch with
1. Me (so I can look back and move forward)
2. Family (when they travel or live internationally)
3. Friends in different time zones (since it's always too early or too late to call )
